Im Blogpost ging es um die Warnungen vor politisch-dualistischem Messianismus, aber in den Kommentaren von @ElisabethK , @silberspur et al. kommen wir auch zu weiblichen Messias-Figuren, SciFi-Leserschaften, Harkonnen vs. Fremen als Umwelt-Mitwelt-Kontrast...

And there's no subtlety in #DunePartTwo in depicting the #Fremen as being based on #Arab and #Muslim peoples and #culrures, #Spice as #oil, and all of the "great houses" as primarily the #European-based and derived parasites of the "West".
I'm typically clueless on #subtext and didn't get any of that until I read what people posted after #DunePartOne.

Note that the whole galaxy was dependent on the spice melange and many wars were fought over its control.
Like the Harkonnens which cared most for their profits and little for human life.
