On Monday, the 🇩🇪 frigate Hessen that's taking part in the anti-#Houthi mission #ProsperityGuardian almost shot down a US Reaper drone whose friend-or-foe identification system was disabled.
When asked by the Hessen, the Americans didn't know of the #Reaper's presence as it was employed in a different mission, so the Hessen's commandant ordered to shoot down the drone when it approached the ship. Only a malfunction of both SAMs fired prevented disaster.
