Das Berufungsgericht in Paris hat am heutigen Mittwoch entschieden, den im »Budapest-Komplex« gesuchten Antifaschisten Rexhino »Gino« Abazaj innerhalb von zehn Tagen an Deutschland auszuliefern. Der Entscheidung waren mehrere Verhandlungstage vorausgegangen, in denen die rechtliche Gültigkeit des deutschen Haftbefehls und des Auslieferungsersuchens erörtert wurden. Zuvor hatte dasselbe Gericht ein Ersuchen Ungarns um Auslieferung abgelehnt und dies mit der Sorge um Abazajs Grundrechte begründet…..“

RASSEMBLEMENT DE SOUTIEN À GINO & ZAID
Mercredi 8 juillet, après des mois de procédure, Zaid et Gino comparaitront de nouveau devant la Cour d’Appel de Paris, qui doit décider ou non de livrer nos camarades à la Hongrie et à l’Allemagne.
Il est vital que nos camarades ne soient pas extradés et que la France garantisse leur liberté.
Ne relâchons pas la pression : soyons nombreuses & nombreux à venir soutenir Zaid et Gino lors d’un rassemblement prévu mercredi 8 juillet à 12h face au palais de Justice, place Louis Lépine, avant d’assister à leurs audiences dans l’après-midi.

I lördags utanför det Ungerska konsulatet i Kullavik, och i söndags i samband med filmvisningen Lêgerîn om martyren och visionären bakom Rojavas sjukvårdssystem.

This past Tuesday, antifascist activist Maja T. was sentenced by a court in Budapest to eight years in prison. The trial appears to have been largely bereft of substantive evidence, but that's Hungarian law in the present moment.
Here is my translation of Maja's statement to the court before the verdict was handed down. There's some pretty weighty stuff in here, but ultimately it is a heartfelt expression of the importance of solidarity from the outside for people serving long prison sentences for bullshit reasons.

Some good news, at least provisionally: 21-year-old antifascist Zaid A. was paroled on Friday after three months in custody in Cologne, Germany. He had been held under threat of extradition to Hungary in connection with the "Budapest Complex" cases relating to events that took place during a major international neo-Nazi gathering in Feb. 2023.
This is noteworthy in part because, while seven suspects turned themselves in to German authorities in January after spending nearly two years out of sight, the other six have not been threatened with extradition because they are all German citizens (they are nonetheless likely to be tried in Germany on behalf of the Hungarian gov't). Zaid, by contrast, is a Syrian citizen, despite having grown up in Germany.
Zaid is now on a suspended sentence (he still has to check in with the cops three times a week), and it's unclear what will happen next. He could still be extradited, or he could also be prosecuted in Germany on Hungary's behalf. In the worst case scenario, he is looking at a sentence of up to 24 years. For now, though, it sounds like he and his family are relieved, if still very cautious.

"Die AfD ist auf dem Vormarsch, Nazigruppen entstehen, militante Angriffe häufen sich – auf CSDs, auf linke Zentren, auf Geflüchtetenunterkünfte. Gleichzeitig ist die antifaschistische Bewegung mit harter staatlicher Repression konfrontiert: Viele Antifas sind in Haft oder entziehen sich drohender Strafverfolgung.
Seit gut 2 Jahren läuft im Nachgang antifaschistischer Interventionen gegen den sog. „Tag der Ehre“ in Budapest eine europaweite Welle der Repression. Zurzeit sind im „Budapest-Komplex“ 12 Personen inhaftiert - für zwei von ihnen, Gino und Zaid droht akut die Auslieferung nach Ungarn bzw. eine Abschiebung wegen fehlender EU-Staatsbürgerschaft.
Wir wollen mit Soli-Strukturen und Anwält*innen aus Frankreich und Deutschland über den aktuellen Stand der Verfahren und über (internationale) Herausforderungen der Anti-Repressionsarbeit sprechen. Auch wollen wir darüber diskutieren, wie Antworten antifaschistischer Bewegungen aussehen können, wenn diese unter Beschuss autoritärer Regime und rechter Regierungen geraten.
