Trudno fotografuje się w Afryce ludzi. Unikają tego jak ognia i wiem dlaczego. Czasem uciekam się do sztuczek typu aparat wisi swobodnie w dłoni, ale ma założone szerokie szkło i ustawiony tryb z rozpoznawaniem twarzy, z AF, aby coś dało się zrobić bez zwracania uwagi. Podniesienie aparatu do oka natychmiast wszystkich usztywnia. A to jedno zdjęcie jest zupełnie inne. Miałem założony krótki zoom, jechałem autem jako pasażer i trzymałem aparat z rzadka coś wyłapując. Te dzieciaki widziały co robię i same zapozowały na widok aparatu. To był krótki moment.
Uważam to zdjęcie za jedno z lepszych jakie udało mi się tamtego roku zrobić. Podoba mi się radość na ich twarzach i energia z jaką się poruszały. I ta szybciutka, spontaniczna „ustawka” na widok aparatu.

How bespreek je een #boek waarin je keer op keer jezelf herkent maar geen van de beschreven situaties herinneringen oproept?
Ik heb als vrouw mijn huis niet open gesteld voor een jonge vluchteling uit Sierra Leone. En heb dus ook geen pogingen gedaan om hem te vinden toen hij abrupt verdween.
Ik ben als man ook niet verliefd geworden op een vrouw waarna mijn leven doorging als ware het overdekt met een semi-transparante laag.
En toch herken ik veel.

Returned home from the hike today to find a Red-Shouldered Hawk at his perch in the back yard, looking down over the bird feeders. He's been hanging out off and on for at least a few weeks, although I haven't actually seen him come in for a snack yet, nor seen evidence that he has, either. Not sure if he's eyeing the squirrels, the birds, or both.
