  3. It astonished me that there exist no 32 or 32 inch curved OLED 2560x1440 ("2.5K") displays being manufactured -- at all.

All of that size and curvature are 4K in resolution.

I don't want to use 4K (or pay for such a display); it's 2.25x as many pixels and it's not nearly worth the huge extra load on the GPU, in my opinion -- and I have an RTX 5080.

Hopefully one will eventually emerge, but we will probably be seeing 8K versions of the aforementioned first. 🙄

  9. I think I worked out the last snag on my new GPU (which is attached to my living room TV for gaming).

Apparently this "FreeSync Color Accuracy" setting was preventing me from enabling HDR & FreeSync at the same time on my Hisense U7 TV. It's all fixed now with that setting disabled. (It seems that this setting may be an RDNA4-only thing, though...)

  10. My #AMD RX6800 won’t output #Freesync to my TV over DisplayPort to HDMI cable but just works fine using a HDMI only cable. The DP cable is completely in-spec for Freesync #gaming tho. And the all-HDMI cable won’t work because of HDMI 2.1 on #Linux.

    Weird.

  11. @retrosponge @wyatt8740 If you have 144 Hz, you have enough headroom to #FreeSync it down to 60.10 Hz (NES and SNES), 59.92 Hz (SMS, MSX, Genesis, and Apple II), 59.83 Hz (PC Engine and Nintendo DS), 59.73 Hz (Game Boy), various oddball frame rates of arcade system boards, or even the variable frame rate of an Atari 2600 or WonderSwan.
