Today’s “Featured picture” on @Wikipedia is of Nathan Mossell, the first African-American graduate of the #University of #Pennsylvania School of #Medicine. I was surprised to learn that he was born in #TheHammer as a descendant of freed #slaves who didn’t have to take the #UndergroundRailroad to #Canada , but emigrated to Ontario anyway because of pervasive #racism in the ‘#FreeStates.’ 🇨🇦
