For the first time in years, I made it to my FLGS for #FreeRPGDay and snagged a bagful.

Yesterday's #FreeRPGDay was a chance to check out a game store I hadn't been to before, Third Eye Games in #Annapolis. They had a huge spread of the day's #ttrpg samples, more than I've ever seen at a shop. I was happy to pick up the pieces for #ArkhamHorror and #DungeonsAndKittens. I've done some work on those lines, but these are the first physical materials I've gotten my hands on.
My wife picked up the little Loremaster's Deck. We've gotten a lot of use out of last year's Deck of Worlds. -
This session was tough. Too much module for a 3 hour session, and a lackluster GM. Player banter made it bearable. The module is probably great otherwise.

#FreeRPGDay game 2: #DCC
currently playing as Uncle Girder, the Dwarven Herder. -
Looking through the adventure book after the fact, there's a lot that wasn't presented to us, and l appreciate the various cut&fold standee assets included.
I wish we'd had more time to have a better experience. -
Initial thoughts:
- From a GM perspective, games that work off an action currency (GM spends Fear to act) aren't for me, and seem to deminish the role.
- Dice mechanics weren't much trouble to pick up. -

Gonna try #DaggerHeart. GM said they wouldn't provide PDFs until day-of release, so there was no time to print out the references, character pre-gens, standees, etc. What a stupid move. Guess we're cutting pages out of the printed handout. 🔪
EDIT: at least the pages are perforated. That makes it much better. -

I’m off to Frankfurt for #FREERPGDAY to meet up with friends. In the afternoon, we’ll probably be playing #GMT 's #Nevsky: Teutons and Rus in Collision, 1240–1242, 2nd Ed. At least, that’s the plan. "Wood for Sheep" #games aren’t really my thing; I definitely prefer #wargames! #ttrpg #boardgames
