so apparently #freenet had a bug that was failing over 70% of all GET requests. with version 0.2.4 the chat app loaded with in a minute or 2 of the node being up.

tried accessing river chat that is part of the recent release of #freenet but after multiple hours of trying with multiple peers connected its still never loads. rather than unstoppable apps they never start...

The coolest one with most parity is a Spacebar server + Fermi chat client but that requires everyone to host their communities and so on which is not easy.
I did have the idea that with #FreeNet coming out now into beta you could use that as a platform to "host" some software like Fermi/Spacebar but haven't looked too far into that

I used it ages ago and recently discovered that it still exists (but under a new name).I tried to get it running, but I just can't figure out how to get it to work now.

I tried the container image first, but the ports kept changing on every restart, making it impossible to publish/forward the right ones. How the heck is that supposed to work?

I would prefer to stick to the container image, but I did also try the native Debian package. I couldn't seem to convince it to allow me to connect remotely, however, despite changing allowed hosts and bindings.
