Not saying it is perfect, quite the opposite....found both these components independently, and being a #freegan type I did my own #solarpunk thingy.

Then I learned about “freeganism,” which evolved out of veganism.
It’s described as “an ideology of limited participation in the conventional economy and minimal consumption of resources, particularly through recovering wasted goods like food.”
What an interesting evolution.

I intended for this post to be interesting. It's not. Sorry.
On Wednesday I felt too ugly to go to the chemist. Yesterday I turned off my phone and stayed in #bed thinking about sex.
I'm up at 3am today. Will change bed sheets, make #freegan soup, shower, see a mate for lunch, then do the volunteering outreach thing, and dye my hair somewhere in there or afterward.
I'll go back to bed to #read shortly as here in the living room the fridge is boring a fucking hole through my tympanic membrane.

@itsveganjim This is a serving size I need to become accustomed to. I've been #vegan for 13 years and recently become mostly #freegan but I do fall short with #eating too much, stemming from a scarcity #mentality and comfort eating for #anxiety. Woohoo #cPTSD!

People often seem to think that dumpster diving is so much better in the winter, because the cold keeps the food fresh. The truth is that a lot of fruit and veggies actually gets damaged by the frost, and that there's so much getting thrown away that even in the heat of the summer the food you find is mostly fresh, just thrown out right before you go pick it up, anyway.

Astuce : si votre magasin vrac jette des noix de cajou à cause des mites, vous pouvez essayer de les récupérer gratos et les manger quand même.
Tuto : vous les mettez au congel 24h pour tuer les mites. Vous ouvrez chaque noix par le milieu pour voir s'il y a une mite ou pas. Gardez (ou pas) les noix une fois la mite enlevée. Rassurez-vous, y'en a pas dans toutes les noix. Passez tout au four (sauf les mites). Mangez.

As always, there is no cost and no obligation to donate items, but if you have unwanted items you’d like to give away you can bring them to Brookside park at the intersection of 57th street and Brookside Blvd. from 9AM until Noon. The collection is sure to change throughout the day as old items are taken and new items are donated. Here is some of what we’ll be bringing out at the start of the day.

So much resource intensive meat. Cases of produce. But also totally unpredictable feast-or-famine. We had 2 fridges and 2 chest freezers and did a lot of canning. It made for a weird apocalyptic homestead vibe, cooking down our loot to make apple butter or marinara at 2am. #freegan #dumpster #boulder
