Was pleased to see they had all the deductions already filled in. If I'd had an expensive commute for work, I'd have been able submit receipts to get a deduction above the standard minimum. Same with any non-electronic transactions I might have had. I don't , so I didn't. -

But in America, taxpayers spend *billions* every year to send forms to the #IRS that tell it things it already knows. To make this ripoff seem fair, the hyper-concentrated tax-prep industry, led by the Intuit, creators of #Turbotax, pretended to create a program to provide free tax-prep to working people.
This program was called #FreeFile, and it was a scam.

Freefile was a literal fraud: Intuit and its co-monopolists used a raft of deceptive "#DarkPatterns" to trick people - students, veterans, retirees, and the poorest among us - into paying for services that they were entitled to use for free.
