Don Aitken, from the Festival Welfare Services, delivers a short history of the People's #FreeFestival from Windsor to #Stonehenge, delving inside the police’s mindset prior to and during the #Beanfield in 1985, the UK’s drift into becoming a police state, and police inconsistencies during The Beanfield trial in 1990/91. Part of the ‘Operation Solstice’ video archive, most of it unseen, released in time for the 40th Anniversary of The Beanfield on June 1 2025.

Celebrating our 51st year as a volunteer-run celebration of music, arts and community in Cambridge.

Visitors can expect aliens, spacecrafts and a few surprises as the Fair returns for its 51st year.
The official 2026 poster has now been revealed, created in collaboration with Long Road Sixth Form College . The winning design by student artist Grace was developed alongside our Communications Team.
