Freedom Flotilla organiser Huwaida Arraf shortly after she and the rest of the ship’s support crew lost contact with the Madleen:
“All those on board have been abducted. They have been taken against their will while they were sailing peacefully and lawfully in international waters…
They were in international waters, sailing towards Palestinian territorial waters, not getting near Israeli waters…
It needs to be made very clear that Israel has absolutely no jurisdiction, no lawful authority, to take over this vessel.”

It feels so surreal that there are now Palestinians who have become household names. A parasocial trauma bond. I'm relieved everytime I hear her voice or see some unexpected appearance. She's still alive, still speaking about her people, not silenced.
It's hard to accept that we can stream HD realtime video of the genocide in Gaza right from Gaza all over the world more easily than we can get humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
