Sieben Jahre sind sieben Zuviel! #FreeMaja

Das Budapester Berufungsgericht hat die non-binäre Antifaschist:in Maja T. in zweiter Instanz zu sieben Jahren und den Mitangeklagten Gabriele M. in Abwesenheit zu sechs Jahren Haft verurteilt. Die Strafen sind damit um ein Jahr niedriger ausgefallen, als in erster Instanz. Gegen die ebenfalls abwesende Anna M. blieb das Urteil unverändert bei zwei Jahren Haft.
Das Urteil ist nun rechtskräftig.

Im Februar hatte das Budapester Stadtgericht Maja T. nach rund 600 Tagen Isolationshaft in einem Schauprozess erstmals verurteilt.

Ob und wann Maja in deutsche Strafhaft überführt wird, ist nicht bekannt.

Wir erinnern bei dieser Gelegenheit, dass Maja in einer Nacht und Nebel Aktion illegal vom deutschen Staat (entgegen einer Entscheidung des BGH) nach Ungarn ausgeliefert wurde.das Unrecht schreit zum Himmel.

"ACTION IN SOLIDARITY WITH GINO AND MAJA! TO THE STREETS ON THE 30TH SEPTEMBER!

On 30 September, our comrade Gino is due to stand trial – a French court is set to make a final decision on whether the anti-fascist will be extradited to Germany. Last year, the German state issued a European arrest warrant against Gino, accusing him of attacking “German citizens” in Budapest in February 2023. Gino faces a ten-year prison sentence. The arrest warrant against Gino was issued relatively soon after the French state’s decision not to extradite him to Hungary, where he would have faced a 24-year prison sentence. The Federal Republic of Germany has joined the Hungarian state’s witch-hunt against militant anti-fascists and is continuing the persecution across national borders with this arrest warrant.

The non-binary anti-fascist Maja T. is currently in the midst of an appeal process – Maja is pleading for freedom, contrary to the eight-year prison sentence imposed on them at the start of the year. At the same time, the Hungarian public prosecutor’s office is seeking a harsher.

Whatever the outcome of the decisions on 30 September may be: as an anti-fascist movement, we must not allow ourselves to be paralysed by this scale of repression. Let us deliver a united response to the capitalist and imperialist states, which is: Not on our watch! Let us stand shoulder to shoulder against their repression and demand freedom for all political prisoners!"

‚Nach mehr als zweieinhalb Monaten endete die Erzwingungshaft gegen Lina per Gerichtsurteil: Am 23. September 2026 hob das Bundesverfassungsgericht die Beugehaft gegen die Antifaschistin mittels einer einstweiligen Anordnung vorläufig auf.

Damit beendete das höchste Gericht die willkürliche sechsmonatige Freiheitsentziehung, mit der das Oberlandesgericht (OLG) Dresden die Aktivistin für ihre Aussageverweigerung bestraft hatte. In seiner Entscheidung verwies das Bundesverfassungsgericht auf den hohen Wert des Rechts, sich nicht selbst belasten zu müssen, weshalb Lina jetzt bis zur eigentlichen Entscheidung über die eingereichte Verfassungsbeschwerde frei ist….‘

Zaids Anhörung am Mittwoch, den 16. September, endete mit einer weiteren Verschiebung auf den 7. Oktober. Zaids Fall ist besonders ernst, da er neben dem Risiko der Auslieferung nach Ungarn sowohl seinen Flüchtlingsstatus als auch die Möglichkeit auf deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft verloren hat und somit das Risiko einer Abschiebung nach Syrien nicht ausgeschlossen ist.

Die Sensibilisierungs- und Kampfinitiativen der kommenden Wochen werden ebenfalls grundlegend für Zaid sein!

Maja T., who has been in prison in Hungary for two and a half years for alleged acts of violence against literal neo-nazis, has made a new statement before a Hungarian appellate court. In it, they describe being assaulted in their cell by five prison guards on the pretext that they were "violently reluctant" to hand over their "suspiciously feminine" clothing, as well as the lingering effects of the trauma produced by such a drastic feeling of powerlessness.

They also write about the support (above all from Maja's family) that has helped them cope with it all. Most of all, it's a reminder that Maja still exists and that our incarcerated comrades still need support. Go check it out.

‚Looking back at the criminal trial that brought us here today, I want to reaffirm the words I wrote and delivered at the beginning of the trial, during my hunger strike, and prior to the sentencing. Even if my choice of words were different today, standing up for humanistic, anti-authoritarian, and anti-fascist values remains no less urgent.

I would like to remind you of attempted political interference, pre-judgment, the pressure and coercion used to extort confessions, and the absolute determination to convict and punish me. I want to remind us that Orbán and Trump designated ‚Antifaschistische Aktion‘ – alongside all accused defendants – as a terrorist organisation in order to dehumanise us and to intimidate anyone genuinely advocating for our values. We, on the other hand, know what the so-called „fight against terror“ by despots like Trump truly means in reality.

I also want to recall how the prosecution incomprehensibly claims to see „fanatical hatred“ in me, and how the Hungarian judicial authorities placed me in segregated detention to starve me psychologically and emotionally. I want to recall how this constitutional state fails its own standards and turns into a domain of arbitrariness and oppression.

Furthermore, I want to remind both you and myself that worldwide, the banality of evil can be – and already is – cruel to an extent I haven’t seen or could describe, and that when confronted with it, we often react with nothing more than a helpless shrug, including myself. In those moments, the only thing that helps is to reaffirm who I am and to reconnect with our values and ideals…..‘
