W każdym razie, tak jak pisałem, nie jest to w żadnym razie deal-breaker dla mnie.
Mam jeszcze slot PCI-E x16 i tam docelowo ma przyjść karta na 4 dyski i tam mam nadzieję to będzie działać jak należyNo i najważniejsza konkluzja, mam sprzęt za połowę ceny gotowego NASa który możliwościami bije go na głowę :)

No to są we #FrankenNAS problemy z chińską kartą NVME. Problemy jak najbardziej do przewidzenia skoro dwa dyski mają chodzić na PCIe x1. Przy dwóch dyskach POST się zatrzymuje z informacją, że dyski są bliskie awarii wg SMART. Przy jednym dysku wszystko ok. #homelab #truenas
Jako, ze pad dysku (zdarzenie rzadkie), reinstalacja systemu i przywrócenie backupu ustawień to kwestia góra 30min, jestem w stanie z tym żyć. -
CW: #FrankenNAS progress report, ft. feature creep
Progress report:
- Tore apart #FrankenNAS so I could redo the wiring and slot the new drives in
- Panic as I realize I don't have enough SATA cables somehow
- Remember that I have a bunch of disconnected SATA cables in my #gamingrig after consolidating several old drives
- Completely tear that apart to redo that wiring as the case has been open for a couple months after consolidating aforementioned drives. #featurecreep
- Finish rebuilding the desktop and free up several SATA cables. Power desktop on, it still boots!
- Finish rebuilding FrankenNAS.
And then as I was about to power it on I got called away, so yay now I get to be anxious about that until tomorrow 😅
