Overrated

You know what it is about this question that I don’t like? Obviously you don’t because why would you? Unless you’re a telepath or something which would make sense. And would be kind of cool. Are you? What I don’t like about this question is that it assumes the person answering it is not only a literary scholar or expert, but has the authority to decide and determine what we should and shouldn’t read, and why. I don’t care if it’s Janet Maslin or Roger Ebert, everything boils down to taste and personal preference (which might be the same things, I don’t know), and not to sound self-important, but I want to make those decisions myself.

So what does this all mean? It means that while I like reading a synopsis of a book or a movie, I don’t want to read reviews or look at ratings of a book or a movie.

Having said all that I’ll answer the question because a book just popped into my mind. I’m guessing someone out there is a telepath and put the thought there although I’m not sure how that would work because I haven’t published this blog yet. But then would that matter because the telepath would know what I’m typing here before I publish it, right?

#Dune and the other original sequels are one of the limited number of books 📚 I have been coming across time and again.

The story is just so way above anything #StarWars (which I also like, but rather for entertainment reasons only has to offer with regard to outer and inner insights, it is really a pitty #FrankHerbert is no longer among us.

But maybe for the better? --Humanity is really--knowingly--pushing Earth 🌍 's climate towards Dune's.

Niepopularna opinia:

Miniserial "Diuna" z 2000 roku cenię sobie nieco bardziej niż wersję Lyncha z 1984 roku, a o niebo bardziej niż wersję Villeneuve’go.

Natomiast z perspektywy czasu zaskakuje mnie, jak wszystkie trzy wersje są do siebie podobne. Oczywiście, że wiem, że one powstały na podstawie jednej książki, natomiast mam trochę wrażenie, jakby twórcy kolejnych po Lynchu Diun adaptowali nie książkę, a właśnie scenariusz (i nie tylko) tego pierwszego filmu.
