Tried the battle of Villepion in the Franco-Prussian war again using slightly modified 1871 rules. This time I was the Bavarians. Again, the game was underwhelming with very few casualties and the main excitement being a cavalry scrap (not exactly representative of the era). I think I've had it with these rules and so have some of the others in our group. Next time, 6th Dec, we're going to try Volley & Bayonet rules for the same battle. #wargame #FrancoPrussianWar
