Anyone else experiencing panel scuffing from their Framework laptop keyboard?

In fairness it's not only the Framework, all recent laptops I've owned have this problem. My older laptops - X200 and X220 - never did because the depth of the bezel ensured the panel never touched the keyboard.

We bought a bunch of framework 13 at work, before the DHH/Omarchy “Big tent means we can pretend Nazis in our community aren’t a problem” debacle. All of the laptops have a spicy pillow.

If you own a framework, check the battery today! Also limit max charge percentage to 70% or 80%, and then drain the battery if it’s above the configured threshold.

I guess a win for open-source and open-hardware in a way, my #FrameworkLaptop laptop had issues with recognising USB ports and there was a major boot issue with my operating system. #fedoralinux fixes the boot issue 'automagically', Linux has really progressed! I followed the guide to reset the motherboard on Framework's site, and now the USB ports work perfectly fine.

I guess a win for open-source and open-hardware in a way, my #FrameworkLaptop laptop had issues with recognising USB ports and there was a major boot issue with my operating system. #fedoralinux fixes the boot issue 'automagically', Linux has really progressed! Bought Slay the Spire 2 yesterday and I'm really digging it so far! (is that the correct usage of 'digging'?)

When I wanted to play it whilr traveling today, it insisted on using the dGPU of my Framework 16 and I was only able to play for like 45 minutes :(

Currently I'm trying to figure out why it primarily runs on the iGPU but still keeps the dGPU active...

I have made exactly the same experience with #framework support. Their strategy is apparently to make it so difficult to open a case that users just give up. :(

Decided to take it one step further and use the BORE scheduler via the linux-cachyos kernel packaged for Fedora. https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/bieszczaders/kernel-cachyos. With everything all the way up (screen brightness, no throttling, running prorgams like opensnitch, protonvpn/bridge, localsend, all the things) we are at about 8 hours of total usable battery time. This is a win. #framework16 #FrameworkLaptop

I just noticed an ingenious property of the design of @frameworkcomputer's modules that confused me initially:

Why have these USB-C modules that merely extend the mainboard port when you could just have slots embedded into the frame?

I realised that USB-C ports degrade.
When that happens, the fix is trivially easy: swap in a cheap module in <10 s.

If the ports of the motherboard were exposed directly, you'd need to either re-solder new ports or swap the entire board.
