I ordered a Framework Desktop computer back on November 5th.
I think it got delivered in December.
I put it together yesterday (January 5th).

The instructions are pretty good. I was able to put it together pretty easily.
However, I encountered a problem.
The Framework Desktop computer is not outputting anything on HDMI.
(Which, of course, makes it unusable.)

I reached out to Framework Support (via e-mail). Hopefully, they can help.

Real interesting results benchmarking my new system... I was going to install CachyOS instead of Manjaro, thinking that I would see some significant improvements (given the scheduler, and the instruction set optimizations in Cachy). But that doesn't really appear to be the case. Looking through the results on Geekbench, the biggest difference on single core is ~6.5%, while multicore is ~2.5%.
And I haven't done any tuning to the system yet... Meaning I could close that margin a bit.

Another video on the Framework Desktop, this time we are running Doom the Dark Ages at Medium details in Full HD. As usual, no FSR, no Dynamic Resolution. This is a very demanding game, so we don't get constant 60 FPS, the framerate stays between 45 and 60 FPS at most times.

Using Nousresearch Hermes 4-70b on the Framework Desktop (on LM Studio). This is fairly large model (40GB VRAM at Q4) and it's on the slower side (5 tokens/s), but it works !

On the list of reasons I'd consider a Framework Desktop is that my experience has been so positive using an AMD FW13 with my Apple Studio Display. My AMD & Intel desktop mobos both pull non-working defaults from the Studio Display's EDID, which turns out to be a huge hassle to overcome in Wayland. I'd do more distro-hopping if it weren't such a pain to get it working each time.
Of course, one thing the Framework Desktop's missing is a 5.25" drive bay (yes, I'm one of those people) :Thinking: I wonder how the mainboard would look in a Fractal Mini Pop Air case? Maybe I could use that internal PCI slot…
