There’s something about Sundays that feels different. The week slows down just enough to catch its breath, and for a little while, everything feels a little quieter. This week wasn’t the easiest. What happens to all the man-made #satellites in #Earth's #orbit, of which approximately 15,000 are active, while the #lifespan of a satellite is usually only a few years? L. Revell et al. (2026) express concern in their #Conversation #article that the #throwawaymentality is causing so many decommissioned satellites to finally land in the #outeratmosphere that their #fragments and burnt #dust are #exacerbating #climatechange and #ozonedepletion.
