Mètres par seconde

Mon épouse termine ses ablutions vespérales. J’attends mon tour. Notre syntaxe fonctionne comme le HTML: première balise ouverte, dernière fermée.

Je regarde le plafond. Rouge. Lambrissé. Les chanfreins courent sur toute la longueur. Rectilignes. Comme une autoroute. Comme la E40.

Je fais demi-tour.

Mardi. Vingt-et-une heures trente-trois. Nous revenons du judo. J’aime la quiétude nocturne de l’autoroute. Je ralentis. Pas trop : juste de quoi en profiter. Je ne suis pas maître de la distance mais du temps à la couvrir. Mon passager n’a rien remarqué, l’adolescence est bruyante. La tempête avant le calme.

Mardi. Vingt-et-une heures cinquante-cinq. Je m’engage sur la sortie. J’ai vieilli de vingt-deux minutes. J’ai mis cinq minutes de plus qu’indiqué par Google Maps.

J’ai résisté.
