    GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – "As winter temperatures settle into Northeast Wisconsin, counties across the region are activating warming centers and emergency shelters to help protect residents from the cold.

    "Local officials are urging anyone without #ReliableHeat, or anyone who may be vulnerable during #ExtremeWeather, to use the warming locations available in their communities. Many sites operate during regular business hours, while several overnight shelters expand capacity during the winter months.

    Officials recommend calling ahead, as hours and availability may change based on staffing, weather conditions or demand.

    Here is a county-by-county look at warming locations and shelters currently available across Northeast Wisconsin:

    BROWN COUNTY (#GreenBayWI Area)

    St. John’s Ministries — Men’s Shelter, 411 St. John St., Green Bay; Women’s Shelter, 700 E. Walnut St., Green Bay
    Seasonal emergency shelters open nightly for the winter season, offering overnight refuge and support services. Daytime resource centers, including the Micah Center and Wellspring, also provide warmth and assistance.

    New Community Shelter — 301 Mather St., Green Bay
    Open year-round, 24 hours a day, the shelter provides emergency housing for adults, daily meals and transitional support programs.

    Offers shelter and services for youth and young parents in need of emergency housing.

    FOX VALLEY / OUTAGAMIE COUNTY

    Additional housing assistance is available through Hope House of Manitowoc County, which serves families, couples and single women, and The Haven of Manitowoc County, a men’s shelter offering emergency lodging and support services.
