Have published new -rc3 of #foxing ; the tl;dr is I fixed a selinux and permisions/gid:uid preservation behavior that differed from #rsync / expected outcome in the standalone fxcp tool, and did a crap-load more testing over the last month or so in real-world situations. Just pushed 0.3.1 alpha of #foxing ; for one-shot use cases it appears to work pretty well and this release integrates blake3 for signature checks for fast resync. I've been testing with ~256GB non synthetic data. I would cautiously say it's somewhat useable for one-shot use cases now. Over the next week am going to be working on implementing delta chunk updates https://codeberg.org/aenertia/foxing/ #linux #filesystems

The old map showed the thousand tiny islands of the archipelago. Dotted lines showed sea routes, & pale stars in indigo ink marked the islands that Captain Gerardus himself had visited.
"What about this one?" asked Geert, pointing to a brownish spot to the north of the great isle of Iabadiu, unmarked by a star.
"Ah, that, child, is just #foxing. The map discolors as it ages."
But Geert was imagining Foxing, an isle populated entirely by foxes. One day, he'd sail to it!
