Now swatched Odysseus. The Van Dieman shimmer inks really do have a problem with the shimmer settling instantly in the bottle, which makes it impossible to get consistent results. Base colour is a very nice deep teal, shimmer pink-purple.
I'm not getting the same results on Clairefontaine 90gsm vellum as VDI show on their website with I think Tahoe - the shimmer isn't multichromatic.

The misbehaving red Jinhao 20s have been refilled with Diamine Claret. In the course of logging this I realised that the F had had a sink-related accident a while back, which was probably not helping matters. They both seem much happier for the moment.
The Diamine inks I've been using in these are all pretty ancient, and true to its namesake the Claret has definitely thrown a slight sediment, but the Woodland Green has been fairly well behaved so far and I've used the Claret in a Tombow Lucca without problems, so we shall see.

Enjoying a much needed break from the frightful day job. Listening to some old skool acid house and rejoicing in the fact that I’ve finally matched a pen to the desert dry Lady Grey. My much loved but gushingly enthusiastic Onoto Magna Ebonite. Chuffed!

That's my third Van Dieman shimmer marked in the log book as "do not buy again" because they're horribly dry. I think the entire type can be marked as that now, because we clearly do not get on. It's not as if I don't already have plenty of them waiting. #FountainPen FountainPens #FountainPenInks

I told myself I'm done with buying inks but after almost 4 years, I broke my rule this week during my trip in Taiwan.
I just wanted to buy something for myself and after 10 years of fountain pen habit, I still gravitated toward stationery stores to find that "something".
So it had to be blue-black inks. Because everytime I bought any other colour, I never use it after one session of inking. These are the 3 Taiwan-made inks I picked from the swatch book. Here's hoping I won't regret the purchase!

The Lamy Ink "Mango" is so unpopular that they are now giving away the jars they have left to anyone who orders a fountain pen directly from them! (It had been cheaper than the other colours for quite a while already.
