Aw, crap, my memory can be so bad now. Someone I follow scans found photos. This person posting to the Davis sub-reddit is desperate to find some family photos (and negatives) that were accidentally left behind at a motel and probably made their way into a thrift shop or salvage place long ago.

"Ontario Place, sparkling on three man-made islands in Lake Ontario was opened by the Provincial Government in May, 1971. On its 94 acres are a 5-module pavilion containing restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The Cinesphere (background) is a triodetic dome theatre with a 60x80 curved screen. The Forum (8,000 people), picnic grounds, playgrounds, the largest marina on the Great Lakes, contribute to this exciting new source of entertainment."

Among a group of color transparencies (slides) I found at a thrift store was this image. I have no idea what this thing is. It is seemingly unrelated to the other slides. So far... 'modern art', 'a lamp', or 'a modern art lamp' are the top (only) guesses. :) Anyone have any others?

Found a fascinating picture among my wife's family photos – young women sunning themselves on a boat deck, probably sometime in the 1940s. No idea where, though likely in Utah.

There's very little this casual, this everyday, anywhere in our old family photos.

I've collected a number of #FoundPhotographs over the years, always thinking I'm going to turn them into some kind of story or project, but in the end, I think reinterpreting them would be doing them an injustice. So I just post them as found. This was found along with numerous others at a vintage store in Jim Thorpe, PA.

I have no location, date, or any information, except that these four young women seem to be having a lovely time.

I picked up several #FoundPhotographs in an antique shop in Jim Thorpe, PA, several years back with the idea of making up stories to go with them. Which thing I certainly could do. But as an amateur #historian, as a #FamilyHistory researcher, I can't help but wonder at the real stories in these pictures.

Wonder if any #FashionHistory buffs could help date this by styles?
