This week, in a city called Calama in Chile, a 18 year old armed himself to the teeth to kill as many kids as possible in his school.. he planned it, we all know that now. It is the first time in Chile's history that something like this happens.

Fortunately, other students saw him with knives and sabres, so they tried to stop him... There are not videos yet, but a school inspector ended dead after being stabbed. 4 young teenagers were severely harmed, and the assailant was arrested. He was in 12th grade, with 18 years old, so he will be sentenced as an adult.

There is material that is being leaked, like IG posts, stories and notebooks with his plan.

One post called my attention; a very creepy pic of him with this song as a music background. I know the song, sure, it was huge in 2011-2012, but I never realized what it was about... now I get it, and it is such a shame that a critical reflexive song could be an inspiration/reference for a criminal, a sad unfortunate damn kid.

In one of his notes he wrote something like: "I wanna die at 18, and be remembered for what I've done".

Surely he will be in jail for the next 20 years and maybe he will be released when he is 38 years old, after being trained in the best school of delinquency and crime (jail)... my god, what a tragedy.

Back in the 2007-9 era, I was part of the Vimeo community and knew lots of videographers there. One of them was Mark Pontius, who became the drummer of Foster the People later (he was directing great videos back then with his older band). I just checked in with him, and I'm very happy to see that he left the rock business to focus on family. I met him once in person around 2009, and I knew that fame couldn't touch this guy. He had purity of heart; it was radiating.

Menos bailable de lo que se podía intuir, el disco sí es de alto nivel como se espera de Isom y Mark.

See You in the Afterlife abre con melodía disco sujeta a un bajo funk que hace de gancho entre arreglos chorris y falsete. Recuerda al Calvin Harris de 2007-9.

Podría ser single. O no porque Take Me Back es una perla de relumbrón. Bailando ahora despacico, quizá sea el corte más exquisito del largo con esas cuerdas, falsete y un arreglo como de scratch de dj, ¡es mántrica! Intentan repetir la fórmula en Feed Me pero resulta distinto.

Los instrumentos subrayan la inspiración 70s como en Sometimes, que podría vestir una escena porno de entonces. Glitchzig es eso y Pet Shop Boys a la vez.
