  1. We'd interacted with Phil Ateto on several occasions, though not nearly enough.

But on March 2, 2024, Maryland #PoorPeoplesCampaign held one of its largest actions, and no word spoken nor lyric sung would've been heard if not for Phil, who got us sound equipment, connecting us with Patrick/Re:Action, and them manning the equipment thru the conclusion. And they weathered the literal storm with us.

    Thank you, Phil.

  2. On June 28, we held "David Mott, ¡Presenté! Forward Together: A Celebration of His Life" in Bethesda. We had many friends from the various social justice organizations tied to David's work, including Zola Shaw as our emcee ... and the Mott family joined us. And of course, we had music! #ForwardTogetherForever #FightPovertyNotThePoor BACC Third Act MD

  5. Today, we celebrated the life and work of our dearly departed friend, David Mott. Maryland Poor People's Campaign, BACC, and Third Act Maryland spoke about his work with those orgs, and we had wonderful music as well. Thank you to all coordinators, attendees, and participants for making it a wonderful event.

  6. One year ago yesterday, our late beloved brother David Mott joined with Tri-Chair Linnell Fall and others from the Maryland PPC, community members in Edmondson Village, Baltimore elected officials, and others as he spoke on why he was there, also bringing our partners the Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition into the story. "The community has to be centered in all the discussions about what happens here." #ForwardTogetherForever #WeWontBeSilentAnymore

  7. The Maryland #poorpeoplescampaign and Baltimore community as a whole have just lost another justice warrior --and impacted member-- Evangeline Diggs. For decades before PPC, Ms. Van, as she is affectionately known, fought for the rights of Baltimore residents. As she says, even though tired, we must keep on fighting. We love you, Ms. Van! Rest in Power! #fightpovertynotourseniors #forwardtogetherforever
