Journée tranquille avec une balade dans le #parc Adèle-Charruyer qui s'étire à l'ouest du centre-ville de #LaRochelle, à la place des anciennes #fortifications qui comprenaient des fossés et une citadelle dont on devine l'implantation dans le parc animalier.
La balade se poursuit vers la plage de la Concurrence et l'allée du Mail, près de villas très chics.

My photo reports on the remains of the Goeben coastal artillery battery wouldn't be complete without showing the massive rangefinder tower.

Located close to the seashore, it currently serves as a forest fire lookout tower for the State Forests.

Even as a local from #Swinoujscie, I still find new hidden gems here! Today's trip: the #bunkers of the Goeben heavy coastal artillery battery, hidden in the woods between the S3 route and #Przytor.

I know many AA fortifications nearby, but naval-caliber artillery is next level. Massive structures integrated into the dunes and once connected by a narrow-gauge railway!
