Forsyth County was going to allow the development of a decent little mixed use area with Apartments and Town homes, and a bit of retail (that could have served the local area) that was within walking distance of an elementary school and a 10 minute (and safe) bike over to a grocery store and more retail. There is even a day care near by.
Looks like it would have been a great little area to live if you were a brand new teacher.
It's exactly the type of development that Forsyth really needs.
Well the local "No apartments ever" crowd has killed it. It's now just another HOA neighborhood with single family homes and some town houses that will be too damn expensive.

An elementary school principal (with review by the BOE) decided to send home a letter apologizing because a guest speaker mentioned that someone involved in the the topic he was speaking about was gay.
Just shockingly spineless.
