For anyone hating the new #Telegram UI, I recommend (for what it's worth) #forkgram classic on fdroid (might be on play store). Its lovely that forkgram make telegram usable.

А если вы хотите выжечь стеклянный вид калёным железом, то автор Forkgram сделал  Forkgram Classic со старым дизайном. К сожалению, в нём достаточно проблем. Но попробовать можно.

@WooShell @ay @0xabad1dea I really feel like reverse-engineering the protocol and making a suitable replacement back-end would be a more productive avenue than charging down the path of inventing something entirely new. Heck, start with the #ForkGram folks or something.

#grapheneos auf meinem #pixel7a ist am laufen. Neue Apps gelernt, #pushservice auf #sunup bedient neben #fosswarn auch den #telegram Fork #forkgram. Einige Dienste nutze ich nur noch im Browser, da die App´s nicht ohne #PlayService laufen. Aber das passt schon.
Zwei Dinge bekomme ich nicht hin. Im #fdroid fehlt mir ein funktionierender #wakeonlan Client. #AwakeOnLanMobile tut es nicht. Und #Screencast #screenmirror zum TV geht scheinbar nicht ohne #Playservice. Hat da jemand Ideen? Vorschlag?

It seems like #Telegram has an initial re-sign-in block on a new device when it is not an #Android/ #iOS device. This mean logging into e.g. #GrapheneOS doesn’t permit one to use SMS as an authentication method rather one needs to use an existing install on a device that was registered.

How to resolve:

1. Install Telegram on the initial operating system or device K.
2. Authenticate it by receiving the code via SMS, which can be any secondary device.
3. Install Telegram on the new device and authenticate it by getting the code via a message on Telegram on device K.

Remarks:

It could only be an issue if installing a fork of Telegram like #Forkgram.

Alguien usa o conoce #Forkgram?

Anyone got an experience with using the various Telegram clients available in @fdroidorg ? I can see three options, all compatible with my ancient Android (6.x); Forkgram, Telegram FOSS, and Nekogram X, all of which were updated within the last month. No idea how compatible they are, or how fast they run on older hardware.
