@soren I was going to propose #ForkAwesome @forkawesome but just saw their deprecation notice and their link to these posts:

so perhaps that's the reason #codeberg doesn't support #FontAwesome ?

Thank god a couple of years back I decided not to be lazy and wrote a basic plugin for these social icons. Finally getting to add the Pixelfed icon (and the Buy me a coffee one, since I was at it) was a fairly breezy experience, not in small part thanks to #ForkAwesome, too.

I rarely visit Facebook and Instagram to be fed up with them, although I don't visit them because I find them kind of tiresome. Go figure.

But never mind all that, look how pretty and snazzy my little blog is! 🌟 💫 ✨ 🐕 🥇

Sad to see that #ForkAwesome looks to be on its way out... Though I understand the reasoning.

@fyrfli yes, #ForkAwesome is awesome. I switched to it way back when, precisely because it does not require JS.

Hey thanks for setting up that meeting today @douginamug @xuv! My friend (who just is new here today @vince) tried to set up the build environment for #forkawesome today and had some difficulties getting it going. I thought I might as well loop them in here.

The fact that things like Font Awesome exist (and are popular!), that not only need special markup, and a special font, but *also* JavaScript to display some simple icons is mind-boggling.

If you're into that, please at least use #ForkAwesome, which does not require the JavaScript part!

Web development is a sad joke. I should implement more logos and icons in pure #CSS, just to show what's possible.

@codeberg Hey it would be nice to hove your logo in svg on #forkawesome maybe ? If you are busy and if a svg is available, I could propose a PR if you want. Let me know :)

@JoergSorge @codeberg Upvoted because it's worth a try but I think there's a much better chance to get the Icon merged into #ForkAwesome ,a non-commercial fork which has already included many icons of fediverse softwares.

I haven't had much time lately to take care of #ForkAwesome but I'm in shock to discover today that it reached a 10M monthly download on one of the free CDN providers. https://www.jsdelivr.com/package/npm/fork-awesome

Not being satisfied with the #FontAwesome 5 looks, I've ended up creating an SVG sprite file from the #ForkAwesome project. This includes all icons from Font Awesome 4.

Recently, we made the logos for #Mastodon, #Hubzilla and more available in CodiMD; We switched from #FontAwesome to #ForkAwesome which provides many more icons (especially of open source projects)! We're also working on better integration for them 😉

Replaced #FontAwesome with #ForkAwesome on my little silly #Hugo site running the #Blackburn theme. Now my contact info page has a #Mastodon icon. And I submitted an issue report to request an #XMPP icon.
