It should be criminal to kill trees that are older than man-made cathedrals. The man-made cathedrals still get more protection status than ancient trees that are older than mankind. That is so very foolhardy & myopic of man.

2023-12-12"Starting in April 2021, people in #AtlantaGeorgia set out to defend #WeelauneeForest, where politicians and profiteers are attempting to build a police training compound known as #CopCity. Over the past two and a half years, this movement has given rise to one of the fiercest struggles in North America. Opponents of Cop City have repeatedly destroyed equipment and forced contractors to withdraw from the construction project, while the authorities have killed one #ForestDefender and pressed outlandish #racketeering charges against 61 more, including the members of a legal support collective."

We’re in an unprecedented rollback of #CivilLiberties. States are passing laws to #OutlawProtests and #DirectAction, charging non-violent protesters with “#DomesticTerrorism” and #legalizing the #RunningOver of people blocking traffic. #StateSurveillance of activists has increased dramatically. Police budgets are getting astronomical increases to further militarize the state. In Atlanta, in the #StopCopCity campaign, police #assassinated a #ForestDefender, #Tortuguita, who had their hands up and then tried to claim self-defense.
To put this all in context, we talk with investigative journalist and author Will Potter (@will_potter). We discuss the #StopHuntington #AnimalCruelty campaign, the #EarthLiberationFront, the taming down of climate actions in the 2010s and how the police state ignored right wing terror groups in the same period.

These recordings are part of the POLLUTANT series, informed by the ongoing destruction of earth in the name of civilization in the name of greed and the fantasy of supremacy that must be ended.
Compared to the previous parts of this series, this one is rather quiet and melancholic - a sombre mixture of drum'n'drone with a few environmental recordings including those of acoustic instruments played in oppressive urban spaces for donations and a processed guitar recording of my friend P., that has been written during the eviction and destruction of the Hambacher Wald in favor of the ever expanding motorway network, a clear invitation to the fossil-fuel/rare-earth guzzling automobile culture to persist and by that continue to destroy this earth. I myself have tried for many years to defend some of the last remaining patches of forests and it’s inhabitants against these motorway expansions, that not only slice the habitats of wildlife into tiny pieces, but that are also the veins that pump the toxic sludge of capitalist trade, extraction and exploitation into the most remote places.
