You may have seen some of my #sunset #photographs before and, yes, it’s the same #horizon and the same old #Sun but this one caught my eye because of its sharpness. There wasn’t a cloud in the vicinity of the Sun when it was setting. You can see the bright, smoothly varying #yellow, #gold and #orange of the #sky contrasting the dark, sharp #silhouettes of the #trees in the #foreground. Also there’s that mobile phone mast too. This morning I posted a moonset. It has largely been a #sunny #day and as #sunset approaches, I #photographed the #Sun, which led to #silhouettes in the #foreground and plenty of #LensFlare. Still cold out there with the #temperature a couple of degrees above #freezing but bone dry.

How can you capture the essence of #fog in a photograph? I often associate it with dull #greys but when the #Sun's #light is diffusing through it, it adds some #colour which attenuates quite smoothly into the familiar gloom. But I do also like the layering effect of the #foreground, #middleground and #background with objects disappearing into the #haze.
