Akku muss lange halten. GPS muss drin sein. Ein Mobilfunkmodul für SIM-Karte wäre gut.

  2. #ForeFlight, I have some doubts about your street map.

  3. Hmpf, wann hat denn #ForeFlight den Preis für das #Jahresabo für Basic Plus von 100€ auf 130€ erhöht.

  4. Hadn’t seen a #VisionPro app that was very compelling to me, but this one seems like it has the potential to save lives.

  5. @inktomi I hope those get integrated into #Foreflight briefings/airport information.

  6. For years, I have had exactly one #Apple device: an #iPad that I use for flying (because there's nothing as good as #ForeFlight on #Android). My old iPad is somewhere near 10 years old and showing its age. I got a new one and, oh my goodness, the activation and migration process was TERRIBLE. Anybody that tries to say that Apple stuff just works has clearly not tried to migrate one iPad to another. Here's how it went: 1/

  7. Want a a couple of relatively quick and easy ways to make #airline flying safer?

    …a 🧵:

    1. @ForeFlight ports the Taxi Routing feature from #ForeFlight over to FliteDeck Pro. Help crews more easily maintain SA for complicated taxi instructions on airport surfaces.

The fact that this wasn’t done long ago is bonkers.

  8. @bsm Agreed, Avare isn't the most intuitive. It takes a bit of getting used to, but works fine when you have. Yes #ForeFlight is expensive and I gripe about that every year... but I likely save its purchase price through saved fuel due to its detailed performance calculations at various altitudes and such. It is aware of the performance characterstics of my plane through climb, at various altitudes, etc., and combines with winds aloft forecast to suggest efficient routes.

  9. @bsm I stick with #ForeFlight as primary because it has better aircraft performance calculations than anyone, more detailed weather, integrates with tons of avionics, has an excellent graphical brief, can not just file but also open & close flight plans, etc. But I am always glad to see competition too. 3/3

  10. @bsm Actually there are a lot of alternatives to #ForeFlight. #Avare is the leading Open Source option, and has moving maps, flight planning, flight plan filing, plates, etc. (Looks like more than Enroute even). #FltPlanGo is Garmin freeware. There is also #FlyQ, #GarminPilot, etc., pay-for options. 1/

  11. @bsm That's really cool! I've been using #Avare as a backup on my Android phone for a number of years. Sadly still #ForeFlight as my primary app but it is fantastic to see so many options!

I miss the US VFR maps in Enroute but still it is a really neat piece of software!
