The beautifully preserved historic village of Fordyce in northern Aberdeenshire, whose origins go back some 1400 years to the foundation of a church here by the Pictish saint, St Tarlarican (or St Tarquin). 3 people were killed & 10 wounded in a #MassShooting at a grocery store in #Fordyce, AR Fri.

Of the 10 wounded, 2 were police officers. The shooter, identified as 44-yr-old #TravisEugenePosey, was also wounded & taken into custody.

Posey, a resident of New Edinburg, is expected to be charged w/3 counts of #CapitalMurder, w/additional charges pending, acc/to an #Arkansas State Police news release.

Geology emeritus Professor Ewan Fordyce from Otago University has had a penguin named after him. The 57 million year old penguin, the world's largest weighing in at 150kg, is henceforth known as Kumimanu fordycei.
