Recently a work colleague was having slow/unreliable cranking in their 2010 #FordFiesta (previously fleet car but since purchased from the company) - was authorised to replace #battery before handover.
Ordered battery in afternoon, quoted 2-4 days delivery but sent from #Yorkshire and arrived next day - impressive!
Thought harness for #ECU would get in the way and have to be disconnected by springing big connector (other Fiestas don't have this arrangement, ECU is in different locations!) but thankfully there was just enough space to haul old battery out without doing that.
Didn't get photos of actual job as I only had a short time to do the job before she had to use the car for work trip, but it starts on the button now within <1 sec

Two men in #Essex #nicked and sent to #jail for #keyless #car #theft of £1,3 *million* of high value vehicles across the county (several SUVs and a modified #FordFiesta ) as well as running a #chopshop in #WalthamAbbey - the worst part of this is looking at the pictures of their lockup, they could easily have made an honest living in the motor trade (I wonder if they had been stalking car enthusiasts via #socialmedia ?)

If you are like me and are driving an old Ford Fiesta with Sync and the bluetooth part crashes sometimes after your phone's system updates, you need to pull the F10 fuse to force a reset of the center console. If you have a 2014 model, like I do, that means taking out the glove box to get to the fuses.

Alas, it seems this man in #Gloucestershire clearly does not see the bigger picture - he been selling #cars from his land for *20 years*, a popular small car ( #FordFiesta ) that is often a first car for many or an extra family vehicle -and then is surprised the #Council want to buy the land to extend the highway..

Ordered clips (Ford 1 649 342) and new mats, arrived today - it makes 0 sense to put new mats into dirty car so whole interior got mini valet (seats and floor cleaned with Bissell extractor, and rubber under mat / pedals treated with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD - this stuff isn't greasy so won't create safety hazard) - driver is really happy with these mats (they are safer too, no risk of slipping / fouling pedals)

#Ford Europe are cheapskates - was looking for new floormats for a 2010 #FordFiesta (the one in the car is knackered and not even correct to start with) and was confused as clips to hold the mat aren't there. Turns out these are *extras* (as well as the mats) and not supplied with all cars (a work colleague has a Mondeo of a similar age - that was also missing the clips!) - there are also 2 variants of them so I will have to check again on Monday (but I think the other is for <2008 models)

At Christmas I had to add 2 litres (!) of oil to the 2010 #FordFiesta 1,4L Zetec automatic (engine is notorious for oil consumption) and top up coolant with Bluecol Universal (all I could quickly and easily get around holiday period. the driver of this car works a busy schedule but they were in the office today so I checked oil and coolant levels were still in order and coolant was good at -34 °C protection - I wouldn't normally buy Shell oil but there was some in our stocks #CarMaintenance

Never been a Ford guy, but today is the last production day for the Fiesta. It's truly the end of an era. Anyone who grew up in the UK would have seen these things everywhere back in the '80s and '90s.
And a bizarre business decision to not electrify what's probably their biggest seller this side of the Atlantic, but instead focus on their bigger models.

Earlier this week I was saddened to hear that the #FordFiesta is being retired. My first car was this 1ltr, H-Reg Mark 3. It served me well for about 5yrs, through uni, and (just about) managing to get me up the Welsh mountains!
Here's 19-yr-old me with it by Nant-y-Moch Reservoir, Ceredigion.
I'll always remember it being broken in to at 3am, and my mum shouting "I've seen you, you bastards!" out the window at the would-be thieves. Don't miss the manual choke, though.
