  1. Those #foraged shaggy inkcaps I fried the other day have been fine in the fridge for four days, and today I've made a creamy shaggy inkcap pasta with the fried caps and the "stock" made from the trimmings and stems. Plus a dried cap from a few weeks ago, same patch of mushrooms.

Made with #allotment shallots, garlic, and one mild red chilli — plus double cream, smoked bacon, white wine, butter, pepper, salt, and a tiny squeeze of date syrup. Sprinkle of fresh parsley.

Makes for quite the unusual sauce colour! Sort of a bluish grey.

    Very rich. Very tasty.

  2. Well… it’s not pretty and I’m not sure how it tastes yet but it was a fun couple of hours with the kids to turn the cherry plums we #foraged from the tree in our local park into a plum pie! #foraging

  3. I love the taste elderflower and elderberry. Almost every year I either purchase freshly made elderflower syrup from a local producer OR I make it myself. The previous two years picking was a little slim! But this year we #foraged enough to make almost five litres of syrup This is awesome! #natureprovide #foraging #nature #homemade

  4. I went for a walk today and found a pawpaw tree along the way. I picked two pawpaws and now they are ripening on my counter. I've never had pawpaw before, so I'm excited. #foraging #foraged #pawpaw #fruit

  5. Went for an evening walk with Adam and found a tonne of giant mushrooms that look very edible. Our Ukrainian guest will have a look at them tomorrow. She knows about mushrooms (and I always wanted to learn, so that's exciting!)

  10. And in other news, #wineberries are back! Tonight's harvest was puny, but in a few days I hope to have enough for a delicious wineberry crisp 😋

Do you have wineberries where you are? Here's a link to my crisp recipe, in case you want to try it: lisaclarke.net/2014/07/21/wine

  11. Happy #Spring #Equinox to the Northern Hemisphere!

& Happy #Autumn Equinox to the Southern Hemisphere!

I'm currently in the latter, so here is today's celebratory #food:

  12. A couple of #foraged shrooms from earlier in the year for #FungiFriday, both 100-150mm diameter.

The one on the right is a very young example of the Orange Birch Bolete, before the "grey legs" had a chance to develop. (I know this one well, and eat it dried all year)

The other I THINK is L. cyanobasileucum (good eating) rather than the Brown Birch Bolete (rather tasteless). Any thoughts on this ID? Alternative suggestions?

  13. Well it is December - made a door wreath - calling this one Edelweiss #foraged

  14. first time in my life that i produce #vegan #milk from #foraged #nuts 🥰🙌🏼🥛 this so cool. (thinking of taking this a step forward and making it into a #yogurt. maybe later. i foraged some more on saturday.)
