I present the open source whopper v4.0:
1. 130g of cheap 90/10 beef, formed by hand into balls, then smashed + par frozen. Cook on a griddle or grill, and season with S/P/MSG on one side after flipping.
2. McGavins 5 inch burger bun, or Fournee Doree brioche sesame buns (not too dense, not too fatty)
3. Add a pinch of citric acid to 4-6 hamburger slice pickles.
4. Shaved onion, tomato, and shredduce.
5. Dress to your liking (whopper style pictured here). -
Turns out there’s a Lee’s Donuts in Gastown now!

Cook’s Illustrated is one of the few pieces of paper-based reading I do.
