A couple of vignettes from the FNB food distribution:
- A man is looking at the open cooler filled with water bottles. "Are these free?" he asks."Yeah, we've got free water, food, clothes." He reaches in and pulls out two of the blue cold packs. Huh. Unexpected, but OK.
- A couple of young men are examining the box of bread products. "Hey, these are Starbucks brownies!" one sez. Mad rush to claim the brownies found at the bottom of the box.

The last big push resulted in helping to get bread to 565 people in his camp and surrounding areas.
He is in desperate needs of funds for these operations happening amid bombings and mass death every single day.

So, everything given but five bottled waters, half a dozen PBJ sammies, and a few mandarin oranges. Then I timed out at 4:00.
Not so many unhoused today, more parched and hungry folks waiting between buses. One fellow looked at my "FREE FOOD + WATER" sign and asked, "Are you giving away free money too?" I laughed and answered, "No, I spent that on the food and water."
Anyway. There's a good feeling that follows from this giving, this engagement.

Back from a food distribution event with the local #FoodNotBombs group, in Norristown.
There are a lot of very desperate people out there, many of them unhoused. So, now pondering how to do better next time: what dish of food to prepare and bring, what supplies to bring, things like that.
For me, this is the flip side to protesting at #TeslaTakedown: doing what I stand for, not just what I stand against.
