Tools uitwisselen voor een autonome toekomst van voedsel
Het weekend van 13-14 juni organiseert ASEED weer ons jaarlijkse Food Autonomy Festival. Dit jaar markeert de 10e editie van de FAF, waar we elk jaar ruimte maken om voedsel autonomie te promoten en bewegingen samen te brengen. Deze tiende editie van staat in het teken van zeggenschap en vreugde, en het vieren van initiatieven, mensen, en vrije ruimtes die voedsel autonomie teweegbrengen.
Na een openingsweekend in Amsterdam zullen er twee weken lang meerdere individuele, maar verbonden evenementen plaatsvinden rond Amsterdam, Utrecht, en Wageningen.
Wil je deel uitmaken van het programma? Of ken je initiatieven of groepen die bijdragen aan het voorkomen van voedselverspilling, alternatieve voedselvoorzieningen, of lokaal, betaalbaar, of cultureel voedsel, stuur ons dan een email naar [email protected] en sluit je aan bij het programma!

We zijn een internationaal team en daardoor is de voertaal vaak Engels, ook op de website. We doen ons best om het festival zo toegankelijk mogelijk te maken, ook voor Nederlands sprekende mensen. Er zullen activiteiten in beide talen worden gegeven en vertalers aanwezig zijn!

De Natuurkamer Amsterdam
Dit jaar is de FAF op een nieuwe locatie! De Natuurkamer is een groen buurthuis in het Sloterpark in Amsterdam. Met een open woonkamer en een groot buitenterrein, een voedselbos, een kruidentuin en een natuurlijke speeltuin willen ze een ontmoetingsplek zijn waar iedereen zich thuis voelt. Ga voor meer informatie over De Natuurkamer naar hun website. Je vindt De Natuurkamer op een groot grasveld naast de kinderboerderij in het park.
We raden iedereen aan om met de fiets of het openbaar vervoer te komen. Tram 7 en 13, bus 247 en 369 stoppen vlakbij. Er zijn voldoende parkeerplaatsen voor fietsen.
Als je alleen met de auto kunt komen, is er een parkeerplaats bij het Sloterparkbad.

On the weekend of the 13th-14th of June, ASEED will return to with our annual Food Autonomy Festival. This year will mark our 10th edition of the FAF, which we unearth each year to promote food autonomy and connect struggles. To mark 10 years, this Food Autonomy Festival will be all about building agency and joy, celebrating the initiatives supporting food autonomy around us, their people and free spaces.

De Natuurkamer Amsterdam
This year the FAF will be at a new location! De Natuurkamer is a green community center in Sloterpark in Amsterdam. With an open living room and large outdoor area, food forest, herb garden, and natural playground, they aim to be a meeting spot where everyone feels at home. For more information about De Natuurkamer, visit their website. You can find the Natuurkamer on a large grass field next to the ‘kinderboerderij’ in the park.
We encourage everyone to come by bike or public transport. Tram 7 and 13, bus 247 and 369, stop nearby. There are plenty of parking spots for bikes.
If you can only get there by car, there is a parking spot at the Sloterparkbad.

Food Autonomy Festival 2025

The Food Autonomy Festival (FAF) is happening again this year on Sunday the 15th of June! If you have been part of previous FAFs, you may be wondering why this year’s edition is only a one-day event. In previous years, we felt that there was not enough time for organisers and groups in the food autonomy movements to interact and learn together. This is why we will dedicate the Friday and Saturday of the FAF to closed sessions focused on collective strategising and knowledge-sharing between groups within the movement. The Sunday however will be open to everyone interested in activism and food autonomy. Join us and get to know the movement through workshops, performances, food and more! In other words: eat well, dig deep and dance!

Saw some really interesting conversations yesterday around organizing, and really how to actually talk to neighbors and start getting the ball rolling. One big thing to me is that small thing, just talking to someone, can snowball into something huge.
How do we go from talking to our neighbors, to creating small mutual aid networks, to building food autonomy, to doing stuff like tenant unions and larger community organizing, to regional shifts, to entire cultural and political shifts?
Most of it is just starting where you are at. Snowballing efforts build on each other and grow in force. Revolutionary action is about creating the revolution in all of us. It's not enough to only theorize, or act on an individual level.
The snowballing effect not only works with food, but everything in our lives. All of it is connected, all of our basic needs are connected, food, water, shelter, communications, all of it.
I wrote this article about building #foodautonomy to illustrate how we might build up from offering food to our neighbors, to feeding the whole city, to truly revolutionary potential.
