    I have been whining about custom axes in #Affinity for #VariableFonts.
    Testing a font with custom axes that worked, I was surprised and looked deeper into it.
    #PurpleHaze has been produced with #fontmake and .designspace. The font that worked was straight out of @glyphs.
    @behdad what is fontmake doing differently to Glyphs.app?

    The font works now (exported from Glyphs), still not seamless but in twenty steps like discussed in the forum.
    There is also a chance that my .#designspace is wrong?

    #TIL if you're making a #VariableFont with #fontmake and it has a support layer, your layer better include the .notdef glyph or else that support layer will not get added to the VF
