Almost a week late, but a photo from last Friday's #FolkRidingBikes, plus a bonus accidental-art shot as I was putting the camera away from the first one.
Oblig. photo from the brow, from last night's #FolkRidingBikes ride. I took us north, we got glimpses of all three stadia (Anfield, Goodison Park, and Bramley Moore) and enjoyed the aroma from Jacob's cracker factory.
Last night's #FolkRidingBikes was a mass collaboration: D had the disco bike with J's playlist; I led the route but A planned it; and P led us on the section through Otterspool Park and Sefton Park, which meant we took the more interesting route through the trees in Otterspool and then through parts of Sefton that I don't think I've ever been to before.

I'm just muling stuff to the new house, so I'm not thinking of upgrades to the bike soundsystem.

This #selfie is proof that we were there rather than a decent photo of the #FolkRidingBikes or the glorious avenue of cherry blossom in Liverpool Botanic Gardens.
Glad that I thought it was worth a chance to take last night's ride through there.
As seems to be becoming tradition, the #FolkRidingBikes had a Good Friday ride round the Wirral coast to West Kirby for fish and chips.
It looks nice in the photo but there was an ridiculous headwind all the way. However, that made the night ride back a dream
And while I'm catching up on posting photos, on Friday the #FolkRidingBikes had a trip over the water to the Wirral.
The ferry had just been taken out of service with engine trouble, but the captain generously gave us a lift for free as they limped back to Seacombe.

Although we can see Wales from Liverpool, we've also got the oldest Chinese community in Europe, so we're just as likely to encounter their dragons as we are the Welsh.

It was a cold one last night, but I'm glad Vinny still suggested a #FolkRidingBikes ride.
The ride itself was dry, though the ride home after a stop off at the Azvex brewery for a pint and some food was through light snow

On Friday the #FolkRidingBikes went for what's fast becoming our traditional Christmas lights tour.
The highlights were a house in Toxteth (that I didn't get a picture of); this one just near the end of the M62 and the Rocket...

Okay, this one is a little bit out of the ordinary as we had the trike out - and only the second time we've done classical music. At the larger end of the turnout, but we'll often get 20- or 30-odd out on a ride.

We were fortunate with a break in the rain that lasted for all of Friday's #FolkRidingBikes ride.
Rode through Princes, Sefton and Otterspool parks down to the river. It was very blowy down there, hence this terrible video snippet as I rode one-handed battling the wind 🤣

@paulywill It's to attenuate line-level audio down to mic-level (he says, as if he really knew what he was talking about)
Basically we have two speaker systems we use on our Friday night social #FolkRidingBikes rides, and I have a Rode wireless mic.
We're (ab)using the mic to be an audio relay between bike-at-the-front and bike-at-the-back but the line-out from the speaker is too high for the mic input on the Rode and it was distorting. This lets us dial down the level to give us good tunes 😀
For last night's #FolkRidingBikes we rode to Calderstones Park; failed to retrieve R's drone from the tree he lodged it in; chatted to the bizzies who came to see what was up; confused the local kids used to having the bowling greens to themselves to hang out on; and watched the local fox mosey across the green in the dusk.
And mostly we played crown green bowls.
@rasterweb that would be cool. The techno we were listening to towards the end of Friday's #FolkRidingBikes ride was at a tempo conducive to us falling into step with it and getting into a lovely state of flow.

This week's #FolkRidingBikes group social ride took in the Gaza protest at Lime Street, but also passed by the Mini Roads in Everton Park, so we all had a play on that before heading down to the river, along to the Festival Gardens and back through Prince's Park.
The #FolkRidingBikes "event booking" system is super lightweight. Someone posts a message like "Anyone riding tonight? 6pm at the Bikiosk" in the WhatsApp group and attendees react to that with 👍
It's more of a "don't go without me" than a mandatory requirement; it's a very relaxed affair.
Last night there were five 👍s on my announcement.

Last night the #FolkRidingBikes headed east. We've not done the Croxteth-Kirkby-Fazakerley loop for ages, it's a great mix of countryside and urban riding.
Got escorted through West Derby by a gang of lads on mountain bikes, who were loving it.
