I just took a hit of #FoilHat and a new #ConspiracyTheory came to me. COVID is a biological weapon, but it is not *the* biological weapon. It is the training event, to ensure that people who can self-train to eusocially follow simple, rational instructions consistently have a survivorship advantage when the real thing launches. Without it, too many stubbornly resistant randos would be able to outvote the "rebuild smarter" plan.

The tech layoffs are not necessary. They are part of a campaign to depress, or at least slow the growth of, wages and salaries for the skilled laborers. Informally coordinated, because formal coordination would be illegal.
