Digital audio myth debunked here with evidence in physics mathematics and chemistry. The chemical makeup of the vinyl record has influence on the physics and the mathematics of what your stylus and cardridge (moving magnet / moving coil) will pickup.
Be amazed at the fact that the signal remains smooth when going through AD DA conversion all the way up to the Nyquist frequency

Analog and digital have gotten married since the 1980's when we analyze the Vinyl Signal path.
My current signal path
* Vinyl Direct Drive Turntable to mix.
* Audio Interface3 to mix.
* Always on HW Music player to mix.
* Instrument Mixer
* Yamaha Mixing Console
* AUX0 send FX Rack
* AUX1 send FX Rack
* AUX0 Return Master Bus
* AUX1 Return Master Bus
* Mixing Console to Headphone AMP0
* Mixing Console to Headphone AMP1
* Mixing Console to Digitizer send
* DAW receiveYou can clearly see a mix of digital and analog equipment in my Studio hardware setup, which IS mostly analog on purpose
Vinyl has crucial digital equipment in its signal path of production. Without it your records would sound terrible. SO get over it, you need digital even as an Analog purist

(edit: solved, see thread)
I have the weirdest situation. I use an UMC1820 with a Focusrite Octopre MKII Dynamic.
Both worked together under Linux, until they didn't: The Locked light wasn't shining anymore and no signal came from the pre.
I connected the interface to a Win PC, also, no Locked LED and no sound from the pre.
But: When I set the Focusrite to Internal clock and the UMC to OpticalIn so that the pre gives the clock to the UMC, then the devices are locked and I get sound from the pre to my DAW.

Wie viele Red Flags kann man in ein „kostenloses“ Plugin-Angebot für treue Kund:innen packen?
#Novation / #Focusrite: „Ja!“

Hi @terjefjelde what do you think of the RME Babyface so far?
I've been looking into the #FocusRite 18i20 as well, but have my doubts..Reviews for #RME products are all full of praise.
Do you use the FocusRite as an ADAT extension for the RME now? Or don't you need more then 4 inputs.

Thanks to #LibreArts newsletter, I just discovered this lovely story about #focusrite support for #linux :
"I just got off a call with them where, beyond providing the hardware, they were inquiring about other ways they could support the development.
Focusrite not only offered to send me any devices I didn't have in my collection but also proposed that for any future product releases, they will do their utmost to send me devices in advance. This means that Linux support could be ready right from the product launch!
Furthermore, they are discussing how their engineering team could better help me to streamline the development process, and eliminate much of the guesswork."

What a wonderful (true) story: Geoffrey Bennett started a #fundraiser to develop a "Linux Driver for Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4" #audiointerface, and not only was it successful, but #focusrite themselves #pledged and beyond that offered extended support with devices and development assistance. 🤓🥹🥰 #linux #linuxaudio #community https://www.gofundme.com/f/linux-driver-for-focusrite-scarlett-gen-4 https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?p=160833#p160833
