I guess I'll never ever buy #fnirsi again.

The item doesn't turn on, but that's OK, getting a defective unit can happen.

Their customer service has been super helpful, they confirmed it was indeed defective and really tried to debug the issue so that I could fix it myself instead of having it replaced.

But when this didn't work, I got nothing.
In 3 months, I never got an answer from the after-sales, even after multiple emails.

And that sucks, because it was not even cheap.

I got the #FNIRSI #FNB58 USB-C tester, as far as I’m aware, it could only test the charging speed capability of a cable (which I believe, is also subject to the charger you have the cable’s attached to, too).

Is there an easy/reliable way of testing data transfer speed too (with or without that FNIRSI device)? On a #Linux PC, or a #macOS machine. I’d like to just check if a #Thunderbolt cable, for example, is actually capable or at least recognised as a 80Gbps cable - or if it’s attached to a 10Gbps USB-C to USB-A adapter, it’s capable of 10Gbps, etc.

Fooling around with some of my toys. This time decided to tune an oscilloscope probe a little.

Do I recommend them? Meh, for the
price - absolutely.

They do work, but don't expect miracles in terms of accuracy and carefully read the specs. For example I got pissed trying to measure an inductor and TC3 measured it as resistor and TC4 measured it as a capacitor 😂. However inductor is less than 10 uH, so neither of the devices actually was supposed to measure it 🤷‍♂️.

Измерительный пинцет DIY YCHEV001 на Arduino

Сегодня мы с Вами соберём бюджетный вариант Китайского измерительного пинцета FNIRSI LCR-ST1. В качестве базы я выбрал Arduino, так как целью проекта стало сделать схему, как можно проще, что бы повторяемость измерительного пинцета среди зрителей канала https://www.youtube.com/@chevichelov была на уровне " Контролька на Arduino ", по этому я упростил схему насколько это возможно, а в качестве измерительных алгоритмов выбрал самые простые, но в то же время самые надёжные из них. Since it’s #blackouts in #Ukraine again - time to fix a small #UPS that I bought as broken months ago.

Originally it had a cheapest #BMS that got HOT and same level batteries - 8/12 were dead when I got it.

I replaced batteries with proper 3000+ mAh ones wired in 3S4P and a 40A BMS - now it stays stone cold and should power my router for 10-12 hours.

Spot welded it today during blackout and soldered with my #Hakko powered by #Bluetti 😆.
