@rtw @jake4480 @rootcompute the reason i'm not concerned about a few people moving to bloosigh is that its the type of people on fediverse who ALLOWED fedi to flounder, who ignored the limitations, that have moved on, so good riddance. the folk here have the right priorities and so i'm more confident than ever we will solve the remaining isues tgether.
> "email" analogy
its a good analogy but i really like this fedi explainer using an even broader analogy https://www.kaspersky.com/blog/what-is-fediverse/48916/
> "forced to shutdown" due to costs
i'm interested in decentralising media delivery and hashtag searching (ie. individual ppl on fedi host the images, videos and posts in hashtags they like, share and search respectively.

i don't enjoy being the bearer of this news, but mastodon.social and c.im are the opposite of your ideals. They are hosted via fastly and cloudflare acting as the mitm, they've been subverting encryption on the web and breaking its privacy, especially cloudfalre, who capitalised on covid and doubled in sizes from hosting 17 million sites to about 35 million. Theye gloat about effectively owning 50% of the top 1million sites on the web. i don't normally communicate with people on cf server but am making a exception in this case. there is a way to detect cloudflare for websites with an addon, Block Cloudflare MITM Attack. You don't need to block, the addon can just give a popup notification.
> fedi personal touch
Agree, one really can't come to fedi and speak the same way as on falsebook.
I think fedi can be for everyone, people learn narcissistic behaviour on fbook but it can be put aside, and unlearned. Fedi does need a "Marketplace" system that works tho, even if we just use hashtags eg. #fedimarket or maybe we categorize eg. #fmktToys #fmktBaby #fmktBooks etc. Talking to ppl i realized they feel they must keep fbook for #marketplace. eeek
THANKS FOR WRITING!
