  4. H has given me his short video of Flying Scotsman running around her train at Minehead. He's quite proud of it. And so am I. Not a bad effort for a 9 year old. ♥️

  6. Really? A racehorse? There's one "secret" nobody thought to mention. 🙄 #FlyingScotsman #trains #RadioTimes

  7. The Flying Scotsman through Warwick yesterday. Mastodon can't do the video as it is too large!

  8. I had also been looking at getting Tornado, which feels a bit more justifiable now I've actually got up close to her #ModelRailway #FlyingScotsman

  9. I kind of want a model of Flying Scotsman. I mean, I always have, even since as a kid as she was *the* engine to have, but finding a decent one for a good price is hard. Plus I think I want her in her current condition as I rather like her (controversial, I know) in BR green. Plus I've seen her more in this condition now than I did when she was in LNER green. #ModelRailway #FlyingScotsman

  10. Lighting looks like it's from a video game thanks to the weird mix of rain, grey skies and some sunshine. But she looks amazing. #FlyingScotsman

  11. A nice photo of Flying Scotsman's nameplate gleaming. #FlyingScotsman

  12. My time out in the cold yesterday paid off. A decent shot from my camera! #FlyingScotsman

  13. Also, today is actually Flying Scotsman’s birthday. She rolled out of Doncaster works on 24th February 1923. I suggested to the cleaner looking after her today that she should throw a bit of birthday cake in the firebox for her. #FlyingScotsman

  14. I just got to sit in the driver’s seat of Flying Scotsman!! #FlyingScotsman

  15. Also quite exciting, to leave, I get to go through the tender and out into a coach behind her. Always been curious about the corridor connection on the tender #FlyingScotsman

  16. I get to ride on the footplate of steam locos from time to time, but none as big and as exciting as this one #FlyingScotsman

  17. Currently queuing to get on the footplate of Flying Scotsman #FlyingScotsman

  18. Worth it. Got some excellent photos and she gave us a bit of wheel slip on the wet rails! #FlyingScotsman

  19. Checked into my hotel room, which is a short walk from one of the stations on the line. Hoping to catch #FlyingScotsman on her last run of the day although it’s getting dark and windy

  20. Although she is pulling this 8 or 9 coach train with total ease. #FlyingScotsman

  21. To be honest, being hauled by Flying Scotsman isn’t noticeably different to other engines from a passenger point of view, it’s just nice knowing she’s the one hauling the train. #FlyingScotsman

  22. Oh no, I forgot to pack the salmon for good luck! #FlyingScotsman

  23. After covering 2.08 million miles, the Flying Scotsman, “the world’s most famous steam locomotive” retired from British Railways in 1963.

Built in 1923 for the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER), the Flying Scotsman was employed on long-distance express passenger trains on the East Coast Mainline. It became the flagship locomotive for the LNER, representing the company twice at the British Empire Exhibition.
