  2. The 140 now has over 20 hours after engine overhaul. While continuing the break-in process, I finally had an opportunity to make it to a Fly-in!

I attended an annual Fly-in organized by EAA Chapter 376 out of Sierra Sky Park (E79) in Fresno, CA.

First a pancake breakfast was served, immediately followed by lunch in the EAA hangar.

  3. Arranging a virtual fly-in event for my community tomorrow, first one of its kind ^_^

Put together some pre-made flight plans to help people dropping in, though hoping people will make up their own flight plans as well. This is the easy variant of the two I made, simple route but it can still be easy to go amiss so will be fun to see what kind of adventures people will have :)

(The map markings are “upside down” because you hold the map oriented to the direction you’re going)

  5. DH87B Hornet Moth. This beautiful biplane was built during the 'golden age' of the biplane, in 1936. De Havilland's were noted for their elegant designs and the Hornet Moth, despite having a small aerodynamic problem early on, went on to be a fine 'tourer'. #deHavilland #aircraft #avgeek #biplane #England #aviation #DH87B #HornetMoth #flyin #event

  6. North American AT-6A. The North American T-6 Texan sported a series of variants, including several which were armed. Indeed, armed T-6s were used in the Korean War to mark ground targets for higher performance Allied fighter-bombers. Here we see an 'armed' AT-6A, which is being used to give pleasure flights to attendees at the Simsbury Fly-in in Connecticut, USA #NorthAmerican #USA #AT6A #Texan #Connecticut #CT #flyin #Simsbury #pleasureflights #Korea #KoreanWar #aviation #aircraft #avgeek

  7. EAA Biplane Model B. Built in 1973, from plans originating with the Experimental Aircraft Association of the USA, this handsome biplane is on the British Register, and is seen here at the Great Vintage Flying Weekend at the former RAF Hullavington, Wiltshire #biplane #Wiltshire #homebuilt #aircraft #aviation #flyin #UK #EAA #USA #GreatVintageFlyingWeekend #photography #aviationphotography #aviationevent #avgeek #Hullavington #RAF #RAFHullavington #EAABiplaneModelB

  8. Auster AOP.6 This Auster was a post-war development of the wartime Lycoming-engined AOP.5 (AOP standing for Air Observation Post, outlining its role as an artillery observation platform). This example, seen at a fly-in, is finished as an aircraft of the RCAF, the Royal Canadian Air Force. The yellow scheme was intended to make it stand out against a snowy landscape in the event of a forced landing. The cartoon character painted on the nose (an example of 'nose art') is that of the dastardly 'Captain A.R.P. Reilly-Ffoull' of Arentwee Hall, from the British cartoon strip, 'Just Jake', drawn by Bernard Graddon and published in the Daily Mirror from 1938 to 1952. #Auster #AirObservationPost #AOP #DailyMirror #RCAF #RoyalCanadianAirForce #Lycoming #forcedlanding #aviation #flyin #noseart #cartoon #cartooncharacter #Reilly-Ffoull #JustJake #Canada #history #technology #flying #BernardGraddon #cartoonstrip #photography #aircraft #artillery #avgeek #aviationphotography #flight #newspaper

  9. Eurocopter MBB-BK 177 C-2 seen in the hover at #Simsbury #Flyin, in #Connecticut #USA.
