  1. Single-cell provides very fine detail in anatomical enrichment tests of gene expression, for example genes with FlyBase phenotypes of reduced fertility: bgee.org/analysis/top-anat/555
Thus with Bgee you can do tests of enrichment of cell types over #FlyCellAtlas! #TopAnat

  2. While the #FlyCellAtlas has been originally annotated with fly-specific vocabularies (i.e., FBbt ontology), Bgee reconnects these data to species-neutral terms (i.e., from Uberon and CL ontologies) to enhance comparisons between species, while still conserving precise fly-specific terms when necessary. @SIB

  3. We are proud to annouce Bgee 15.1 with the integration of droplet-based #scRNAseq (e.g. 10x Genomics), after full-length #singlecell (e.g. Smart-Seq) in 15.0.
We focused on #Drosophila melanogaster, with notably integration of the #FlyCellAtlas. bgee.org/ @SIB

  4. A few days left to register with early bird rate to our #BC2 #ISBSIB workshop "Standardization of single-cell metadata: an Open Research Data initiative" with Jason Hilton of #cellxgene & David Osumi-Sutherland #EBI #SingleCell #FAIRdata #bioinformatics #biocuration #HumanCellAtlas #FlyCellAtlas bc2.ch/tutorials-workshops

  5. Nancy George presents the single cell atlas at #EBI, with fly cell atlas example. #flycellatlas seems to be a very popular study case for biocuration of #singlecell data at #biocuration2023 😁

  6. Sagane Joye-Dind: reannotation and standardization of #FlyCellAtlas to provide a gold reference for ML training on #SingleCell #biocuration2023

  7. New platform to access all annotations by Bgee, including those not yet released in the database, with for now a focus on #FlyCellAtlas annotations.bgee.org/ #biocuration2023 #singlecell #SIB
