  1. FocalPlane's #FeaturedImage was acquired by Aswathy G Krishnan and shows a neural rosette of a cerebral organoid derived from hiPSCs.

In this post, we learn more about the image and Aswathy’s research:

Some nice colors of Dragon fruit 😊😋
This reminds me that I should plan some fluorescence microscopy experiments 🤔

  3. New publication from Kwanghun Chung lab at MIT improves on their SWITCH approach and eFLASH stochastic electrotransport to improve antibody labeling by gradually shifting the microenvironment. Looks interesting, I wonder how well it can be adapted to other labeling protocols.

  5. Hey, it's #FluorescenceFriday !!! Have a look at the fluorescence from the chlorophyll of these tiny little happy algae. Image courtesy of our oblique #lightsheet microscope! In their DYE-ART project the awesome @alessiacandeo and Barbara Menin are going to make these little guys super efficient at capturing CO2 from the atmosphere.

  6. Here's a question for #ImagingScientist #Microscopy folk and #ImageAnalysis people (but also #grammar if that's your thing).

I'm using #DAPI, #SYTOX or something else to label the DNA in cells. I want to segment them based on this.

    Am I doing:
    A) Nuclei Detection
    B) Nucleus Detection
    C) Nuclear Detection
    D) Other (please comment!)

Please boost and tag any #Imaging folks you know. I need to settle a dispute.

    Wishing it was #FluorescenceFriday already.

  11. Happy #FluorescenceFriday! Here are #Parvalbumin (red) & #Calbindin (green)-expressing neurons in mouse #hippocampus and #entorhinalcortex. Great image by our technician, Eva Rothenberg (working with Dr. Gustavo Rodriguez). #cellsignal #Swant 🔬🧠

  12. Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) is an organic fluorescent dye and probably one of the most commonly used in #immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.
