  10. FocalPlane's #FeaturedImage was acquired by Aswathy G Krishnan and shows a neural rosette of a cerebral organoid derived from hiPSCs.

In this post, we learn more about the image and Aswathy’s research:

  12. :-( i came here hoping of #science days like back then on #twitter with #fluorescenceFriday and #MicroscopyMonday .

Instead im choking on #fascism in the world and #genocide .

there was a post some time ago about that online protest 1. doesnt work and 2. paralyzes you, giving you the illusion of being active.

i guess i pretty much failed that.

Some nice colors of Dragon fruit 😊😋
This reminds me that I should plan some fluorescence microscopy experiments 🤔

  14. New publication from Kwanghun Chung lab at MIT improves on their SWITCH approach and eFLASH stochastic electrotransport to improve antibody labeling by gradually shifting the microenvironment. Looks interesting, I wonder how well it can be adapted to other labeling protocols.

  15. I missed #FluorescenceFriday but here's an image for one from the manuscripts on the nearly-finished pile. We've found a genetic marker for the deep CA1 pyramidal cells. Magenta is calbindin (IHC), cyan is the other cell type (AAV-TdTom). Less than 5% overlap. Coming to BioRxiv by Easter, hopefully! #Neuroscience

    #fluorescencefriday every day...

We are especially grateful to CMN patient advocacy groups, MELCAYA, AFM-Téléthon, and the Institut Marseille Maladies Rares (MarMaRa), for their support.

Bon bout d'an à tous ! (Happy nearly-New Year to all!)

  17. Happy #FluorescenceFriday

Some actin action always - amazes me (and gets me safely into the weekend) 😜

  19. It’s been a busy day, but I had the pleasure of meeting a new group of students in the graduate programs 😊

It already feels like Friday to me 🤔 While it’s not Friday here in Pennsylvania just yet, it is in many countries, including where some of our students are from 🌍

    So, #FluorescenceFriday

My wife was doing some cell proliferation assays 😊

  22. Hey, it's #FluorescenceFriday !!! Have a look at the fluorescence from the chlorophyll of these tiny little happy algae. Image courtesy of our oblique #lightsheet microscope! In their DYE-ART project the awesome @alessiacandeo and Barbara Menin are going to make these little guys super efficient at capturing CO2 from the atmosphere.

  23. Happy #FluorescenceFriday and congratulations to Stéphanie Durand, Dept. of Chromosome Biology, Raph_Mercier lab, MPIPZ Cologne, Germany for her 2nd place in the Huygens Image Contest, with this high quality deconvolved STED MIP image of the synaptonemal complex at meiosis.

  24. Here's a question for #ImagingScientist #Microscopy folk and #ImageAnalysis people (but also #grammar if that's your thing).

I'm using #DAPI, #SYTOX or something else to label the DNA in cells. I want to segment them based on this.

    Am I doing:
    A) Nuclei Detection
    B) Nucleus Detection
    C) Nuclear Detection
    D) Other (please comment!)

Please boost and tag any #Imaging folks you know. I need to settle a dispute.

    Wishing it was #FluorescenceFriday already.

  29. Some weeks in the lab are tiring + difficult going, but then I get onto the microscope and am always reminded of why I love my work. Look at them go!! 🤩 #fluorescenceFriday

I’ll never get tired of seeing my favourite cell biology textbook diagrams come alive under the microscope! 🔬❤️
