Movie TV Tech Geeks #TV #SouthKorea #FlowerofEvil 10 Greatest K-Dramas You Can Binge in One Week, Ranked http://dlvr.it/TRtJSj

@dnkboston
I always recommend #Misty to anyone who likes mystery thrillers, or anyone who wants to watch #kdrama with a partner who's not so fond of romance. I thought that it crackled with tension, throughout. Also, #FlowerOfEvil is a popular one. Currently, #DearX is very dark and twisty.
What are some of your favourites?

@AnnaAnthro
Did you not watch the wonderful #FlowerOfEvil ?!

"Flower of Evil" is rising to the top of my To-Watch list - it looks really good.
-
Is #flowerofevil really good? Yesterday I watched the first episode but it didn’t catch me, I don’t know if I give one more chance #kdrama

Okok so after having a little gay moment upon seeing the female main character's design, I downloaded the early access of Flower of Evil: Black Myth. *Please look at her*

CW: Flower of Evil ep 4
@JillsJoy I watched #FlowerOfEvil twice!
#kdrama -
@Fanua @whoosh @EllenInEdmonton #Stranger would have been better imho if they added some romance.
I know it doesn't totally fit with the character, but they made it possible in #FlowerOfEvil and #HeIsPsychometricIn any case #BaeDoona is an excellent actress!

#day28 Something I want to see in more dramas
Kids. The desire to start a family. I saw this in #FlowerOfEvil only. Usually kids are a dramatic background for single parents or they're abandoned and adopted by someone.
Actually #BattleForHappiness has a lot of families, however they aren't normal families with loving parents. They are more like dysfunctional ones.

#day10 Did you rewatch a drama in 2023?
Yes and not just one.
I rewatched #Healer 2 times, right after finishing it, to better understand certain parts (there's so much going on!) and a third time in Korean.
Then #SearchWWW because I couldn't fully grasp some dialogues on Prime Video. The second time on Viki subtitles made more sense.
Because of this I rewatched #HeIsPsychometric and #FlowerOfEvil too, but there wasn't a big gap for these two #kdramas

@EllenInEdmonton @hfrancissl #FlowerOfEvil has wonderful romance moments, like the saving in the swimming pool, the failed escape attempt and that night together, the flashbacks of their love story, the fake kidnapping, ...

@[email protected] Ugh, thanks for the heads-up! Not sure why writers/producers of #kdrama think that's a good mix! I really enjoyed #FlowerOfEvil, which was about a serial killer and had romance but it was clearly suspense, not romcom. -
@jillithd you forgot Amazon Prime Video!
My favorite #kdramas there are #MayIHelpYou , #FlowerOfEvil and #HeIsPsychometric

CW: re: spoilers for the kdrama Flower Of Evil
@[email protected] I really felt like the last couple of episodes really managed to draw on all of the emotional pain of all of the key characters. After a head wound and emotional trauma, amnesia is somewhat believable and would be devastating. I really liked the story of the second couple, always heartbreaking. And the child actor was amazing. All of the acting was extremely good. Dragged me well out of my genre, for sure. #kdrama #FlowerOfEvil -
CW: re: spoilers for the kdrama Flower Of Evil
@[email protected] Haha, I'm on E13 so I've missed some of this. I find that many #kdrama shows try to mash too many things into the last 2 episodes, leaving many plot holes. I'm finding the drama very compelling, even though there's zero credibility to it all! #FlowerOfEvil -
CW: spoilers for the kdrama Flower Of Evil
@dikgelukkig Some things that left me really annoyed …
- What exactly was the partnership between Do Min-Seok and Baek Hee-Sung like? Who exactly did the killing?
- What happened after Baek Hee-Sung killed Do Min-Seok?
- How did Jung Mi-Sook end up in the mental hospital after she escaped?
- What was in that rat poison that made Yeom Sang-Cheol die within minutes of just taking a little sniff of that? (Or is rat poison really *that* lethal?)
- So Baek Hee-Sung did nothing when Do Hyun-Soo was on top of him crying and wailing, but once he got off of him, Hee-Sung manages to overtake a police officer and take his gun while he was stabbed in two places? How incompetent was this police officer? 🙄
- Why was that the ending? That Do Hyun-Soo discovers his humanity/feelings? But we saw that evolve during the entire show, so why does he have to go through that again? And sure, I don’t have to agree with an ending, but when so many storylines are unexplained, I think they could have used the time of that last episode to address all of that.
It was just too many frustrating things cramped in the last two episodes.

Sooo … about the kdrama Flower Of Evil. I finished it yesterday and I liked it – up until the last two episodes.
What I liked:
- Good actors, interesting characters
- Special mention for the kid who plays Eun Ha: she is adorable!
- A lot happens in every single episode without it being too much or too complex, no boring parts
What I didn’t like:
- The suspense music was a bit over the top
- The last but one episode was extremely frustrating. I yelled at the tv several times, mostly something like ‘Why the F would you do that?!’ and ‘Oh come ON!’
- I do not understand why they ended it the way they did. To me it was superfluous and that frustrates me, because they could have used that time to explain some storylines that are now completely unresolved.
So yeah, it was good until it wasn’t …

@dikgelukkig I loved #FlowerOfEvil ! Let us know how it goes

Episodes 1 & 2 ❤️ (airing)
These first two episodes are exciting. There are thrilling scenes, romance scenes, supernatural powers and historic flashbacks.
I didn't experience this emotional roller coaster since #FlowerOfEvil. Also it's the first time that I see #PyoYeJin in a leading role. She played tremendously well as supporting cast in #OurBloomingYouth #FightForMyWay and #WhatsWrongWithSecretaryKim

There is a serious issue with English subtitles for #kdrama series on #AmazonPrimeVideo. The first time I watched #FlowerOfEvil #악의꽃 there. Now I'm re-watching it on #Viki and the translation makes much more sense. The same happened with #SearchWWW #검색어를입력하세요 too. I didn't completely understand both series the first time.
What's a bit weird on Viki instead it's that the subtitles may change when a scene is repeated as a reminder or a flashback.

CW: Flower of Evil: Episode 3
WHAAAAAAAAT?! I just knocked my tea over.
-
I just noticed.
#JangHeeJin (#장희진), the actress behind Ko Hae Soo (고해수), from #Pandora: Beneath the Paradise (#판도라: 조작된 낙원), was also in the K-drama #FlowerOfEvil (#악의꽃) as Do Hae Soo (도해수).
Without knowing the #Hanja equivalent of her character's name, Hae Soo (해수), it can mean: (1) salt/sea water; or (2) sea animal.
One possible Hanja form of the name is 咳嗽 which can mean: (1) cough; or (2) medicine to coughing, in both Japanese and Chinese. It can also mean, figuratively in classical Chinese, as (1) a sound; or (2) to speak.
Although, for her character in Pandora, it could be: 解搜, which means to divide and to search.
The thing with many Asian names, the meaning behind it defines the person. In #Asian #fiction, this is well-used to give clues, if you will, about the fictional character. Most Asian writers wouldn't pick just any name, it has to fit, has to be meaningful.
